Rooted in China. Shared with the World.

HermTEA was born in Chengdu, China — a city steeped in tea tradition, Taoist philosophy, and quiet inspiration.

Our founder, a lifelong tea lover, discovered a striking paradox: while China is the world’s largest tea exporter and the birthplace of a tea tradition spanning thousands of years, there is still no globally recognized Chinese tea brand.

Each year, China exports vast quantities of tea, yet the average export value remains low. Many premium Chinese teas are sold overseas at diminished quality and price — often rebranded or blended without honoring their origin.

Part of the problem lies in cultural disconnect: traditional Chinese tea values slowness, stillness, and balance — concepts that don’t always align with Western consumption habits or commercial models.

At HermTEA, we believe tea is more than a drink.

It is the embodiment of Chinese philosophy: harmony (和), balance (中), and stillness (静). Each cup invites us to pause, reflect, and reconnect — with ourselves, with nature, and with tradition.

About Us

Safety You Can Trust

We understand that for many global consumers, choosing tea from China can raise concerns. Stories of pesticide residues or heavy metals in agricultural products have led some to question the safety and transparency of Chinese teas. In truth, these issues are not unique to China — they affect tea-growing regions worldwide — but the lack of clear information and direct connection to producers has made trust harder to build.

At HermTEA, we take these concerns seriously — and we respond with action, not excuses.

We only source from mountain-grown tea gardens in remote, ecologically protected regions far from industrial activity. We partner with producers who follow eco-conscious farming practices, and we conduct rigorous testing to ensure every batch meets or exceeds China’s national food safety standards for pesticide residues and heavy metals.

Organic Options & Quality Assurance

Many of our teas are certified organic under China’s official organic certification program, offering peace of mind for health-conscious tea drinkers.

And while certification is one measure of quality, every HermTEA product meets China’s national food safety standards and is supported by official inspection and testing documentation.

We believe organic certification is one way to build trust — but transparency, sourcing integrity, and rigorous testing are values we apply to all our teas.

Our Tea Origins & Commitments

Each HermTEA collection is thoughtfully curated from the most renowned tea-producing regions in China — places where tea has been cultivated for centuries, sometimes even millennia. These legendary origins include:

  • Da Hong Pao oolong from the misty cliffs of Wuyi Mountain in Fujian

  • Fuding white tea from the coast of northeastern Fujian

  • Dragon Well (Longjing) green tea from Hangzhou’s West Lake region

  • Yunnan black tea and Pu-erh from Fengqing in Lincang

  • Anji white tea from the bamboo-covered hills of Huzhou, Zhejiang

Many of these regions have been producing tea since the Tang Dynasty — a living legacy of Chinese craftsmanship and terroir.

We are committed to preserving this legacy through hand-harvesting, traditional processing, and a strict no-additive policy. All of our teas meet or exceed national safety standards, and select products are organically certified.

From ancient mountains to modern cups, HermTEA bridges the old and the new, East and West.

This is our hope and vision:

To help the world understand, value, and fall in love with Chinese tea — as a timeless ritual and a living cultural legacy.
